Hi guys, my name is Ken Chua, an undergraduate researcher in the Singapore University of Technology and Design(SUTD in collaboration with MIT). As a team of Architects, product development engineers and engineering systems engineers, we are working on a sustainable form of harnessing renewable energy for lighting in rural india villages. We have indian conglomerates Wipro as silent backers leaving us absolute freedom in coming up with a viable solution. We have already seeked out several villages in India, but would be keen to hear from any other village representatives that would be interested in working on a solution your own village/panchayat. We are also open to hear of all your ideas and problems! We are all about community-based, human-centered design! List us your name, email and village/panchayat if you are interested!

Hey, we have set up a small 120 kW village based biomass gasifier to generate electricity for rural use. We would be happy to talk to you further about it. Our co-ordinates - http://www.zeocode.com/919962693914
I had tried something in my own small way. Here is the link to a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8G4kRH9VlU Wish you the best and would be happy to extend any help if you happen to be in West Bengal.
I'm interested to be part of this project. Can connect you to villages which are unelectrified in India.
Hello Ken I'm Sagar from India. I was a participant in IDDS 2013 which happened in Zambia. I have been working with SELCO incubation center here in India. The SELCO Incubation Center is a non-profit entity which culminates all of SELCO’s business learning’s and processes made open source. We aim to provide a platform for independent entrepreneurs who wish to establish independent energy service entities at every scale catering to the under- served communities across India.(http://www.selcoincubation.org/) Kindly let me know if I can be of any use to you. Thanks, Sagar Mahapatra IDDS 2013
Hi Ken, You may want to get in touch with the team @Selco (www.selco-india.com) - they should be able to provide you with useful inputs. Also, is there a portal where you plan to make this information/updates available? I'd love to read/participate. Thanks
