Grants

Do you run an innovation center, makerspace, design education or appropriate technology incubation program inspired by a co-creation approach? An IDIN Sustainability Grant might be well-suited to help you build on the financial sustainability of your programming.

IDIN is enthusiastic about helping individual champions and organizations create social impact in their local communities by promoting design and fabrication through offering local innovators access to some combination of education, tools, space and support. IDIN Network members have created many community innovation centers and education programs around the world and we have supported them with funding, mentorship, and peer-to-peer connections. In our final program year, we are seeking to focus our support for these programs on efforts to establish avenues for long-term sustainability.

Is there a revenue stream you’re looking to pursue that requires tools, equipment, or personnel that you don’t have? Is there a source of expert help that you need funds in order to take advantage of? Is there a staff position that will be necessary to make your long-term plans successful? Is there another funder interested in your organization that is asking for matching funds?  If you have an established design education or technology incubation center or program, and answered 'yes,' to any of these questions, this grant may be a good fit for your program or center.

IDIN Sustainability Grants are available to IDIN Network members and existing Innovation Center Partner grantees. These grants will be offered only once this year. Awards will be between $3,000 and $10,000 USD.

Learn more by downloading the application instructions, and be sure to apply by November 14!
